2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service:

3. What We Never Collect

• Your full screen or anything outside the region you select
• Your browsing history or visited URLs
• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Payment information (handled entirely by LemonSqueezy)
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Mouse clicks, keystrokes, or user activity
• Any data from pages you visit without triggering the extension

4. How We Use Your Data

• Screen region image: Sent to our OCR provider (Azure Computer Vision) to extract text, then immediately discarded. Never stored or used for any other purpose.
• Device ID: Used only to count your monthly free captures and reset them at the start of each month.
• IP address: Used only for rate limiting to prevent abuse of our service.
• Email address: Used only to verify your PRO license and provide customer support. Never used for marketing without explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

• Screen region images: Never stored — discarded immediately after OCR processing
• Device ID and request counts: Reset monthly, deleted upon request
• IP address: Reset monthly, deleted upon request
• PRO user email and license: Retained while subscription is active, deleted within 30 days of cancellation upon request

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

• The third-party services listed above, solely to provide our service
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights

We will never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you
• Delete: Request deletion of your data at any time
• Correct: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Opt out: Uninstall the extension to stop all data collection immediately

9. Children's Privacy

Screen Translator is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data including:

• All data transmitted over HTTPS encryption
• API key authentication on all backend endpoints
• Row Level Security (RLS) enabled on our database
• Rate limiting to prevent unauthorized access

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
